This is getting ridiculous
February 26th, 2008 by AndyI know it’s to be expected that some critics will capitalize on the fact that the leading democratic presidential nominee at this point is a muslim named Barack Hussein Obama, but the situation is getting out of hand. One of the cunts currently at the top of my most-despised list, Hillary Clinton, has just released a photo of Obama while he was touring Kenya in 2006:

I don’t have too much useful to add here - Hillary’s becoming desperate, and revealing herself as the sack of shit she really is. The only reason I’m commenting on this is because this is not a stand alone occurrence. On February 18th, this was what MSNBC was displaying as Chris Matthews talked about Barack Obama on Hardball:

CNN, too, has been in on the act. Check out these gems from the “most trusted name in news”:

How many fucking “mistakes” can the media make with this guy? I can’t wait to see how they treat him in a general election. Wait… What I truly want to see is what the Republicans pull. It’s gonna be fun.

The best part is that Obama ISN’T actually Muslim.
Oh, and because I’ve been reading a lot of feminist blogs lately, I’m a little struck by your use of the word ‘cunt’ to describe Hillary. From what I can guess, ‘cunt’ is a word you’d happily apply to any one who fits her description (male or female) - but you kinda come across as a woman-hater, here, which I’m pretty sure isn’t your point.
February 26th, 2008 at 9:28 pm
I know a couple of people trying to “reclaim” cunt, claiming it means goddess or something. I wish them well, but I will continue to use the word to describe people I don’t like. If that leads you to label me a woman hater, then: (1) you’re wrong, and (2) don’t you realize how silly political correctness is?
February 29th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
the people trying to “reclaim it” are idiots. yes, some of our friends are stupid. zombie feminists come across like morons.
February 29th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
I’m not saying you’re a woman-hater, Andy, I’m saying that you come across as one, there’s a difference.
There’s also a difference between political correctness and, well, common decency. I haven’t heard you call Obama a nigger yet, after all. I know it’s not quite the same, but one term is sexist and the other is racist.
February 29th, 2008 at 9:51 pm
Orrrr maybe I’m being hypersensitive, since I have a bunch of female friends who probably wouldn’t hesitate to use the same expression to describe Clinton. I dunno. “Political correctness” exists for a lot of pretty good reasons, though. It can definitely get out of hand, but I don’t think the world was a better place when it was okay to tell women to “iron my shirt!” (as has happened to Hillary on her campaign) or to dress up in black face. Some friendly prejudice among friends is one thing, and satire is another, but different social codes exist for people you don’t know.
Aaaaaand I’m done derailing.

naomi klein has written about her take on the whole thing here http://www.thenation.com/doc/20080317/klein . its a pretty good article. (Not about cunts, but back to the Obama campaign, sorry fellas)

That Klein article is definitely worth reading. It makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, its a good one alright. It’s amazing the lengths politicians must go to these days to be considered moderate and decent enough to get elected (such as Obama defending his Christian beliefs when they really have nothing to do with anything). It would be nice to hear more from everyone on the Islamophobia issue in general - though I think there’s a chance it could be politically damaging.
And finally… I guess I just need a really good, offensive word that carries no racist/sexist connotations - something that just targets and individual and says the worst about him/her. Any suggestions?
March 2nd, 2008 at 7:27 pm
Sad thing is that “cunt” is pretty much the most offensive thing you could say. Maybe “twat”, except that’s basically a synonym. Nearest “non-denominational” cusses I could think are “asshole” and possibly “bastard” - but they aren’t really very strong words these days, given that you could probably hear them on daytime TV. Oh well.
I love Naomi Klein, and hate politics - some reasons for which we’ve outlined pretty well here. That is, doing the right thing is impossible because it would make you unelectable. Hurrah for democracy!

Of course, calling someone a “shit” is a pretty good insult. Or, if you’re feeling verbose, “shit-head.”
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:15 pm
The extreme “offensiveness” of “cunt” is precisely what makes it the kind of really good burn that you’re looking for. You’re not going to find that type of next level insult that isn’t offensive in (the derogatory sense) to a ton of people. Those types of words get used infrequently and thus become particularly jarring as an insult. You just have to choose between being sensitive and being able to express extreme hatred for people using a single word. I’m not really trying to argue for either side…just sayin’ I don’t think you can have it both ways.

Same deal with “shit”. Its true, that should be a pretty good insult, to equate someone with human fecal matter. “You are a shit” / “You are shit” / “You’re a lying piece of shit” / “I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast!” The problem is, I probably say “shit” at least 15 times each day for other, completely less important reasons than insulting people, and the frequency of use takes away from its power as an insult.

sorry for the excess of postings, but you guys all need to check out this blog… there’s now 79 entries, many of which make you say “wow, they really got my number on that one…” let the procrastination begin

I’m actually a bit proud very few of those white things apply to me - and “most” of the ones that do apply to my sexy body aren’t for the reasons he outlines. I’m not just saying that.
Also, you guys really have to lighten up with scolding people about language. You can pass that along to your feminist twats, too.
March 5th, 2008 at 11:31 pm
and - calling someone a nigger is NOT equivalent to calling someone a cunt or a dick. Nowhere near. There isn’t some sort of cut and dry litmus test for “prejudiced” versus “not”. Gradience!
March 6th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
I actually like plenty of things on the “Stuff White People Like” list, but his reasons completely trivialize everything. Self-important, sarcastic cynicism gets old pretty quickly.

There is no excuse for liking Kanye or being mystified by Japan.
March 7th, 2008 at 2:50 am
I didn’t say I liked everything.

I agree with you guys on that White People site. It’s kindof annoying.
(PS - I understand the gradient, I know it wasn’t exactly a fair comparison. It just rubbed me the wrong way, that day.)
